A little song
So I think my birthday and past week can best be summarized with this little song my closest neighbor in my village wrote me..
Happy Birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
You can use my chimbushu (toilet)
Anytime you need to poo!!!
Sick yet funny huh!! See, upon my arrival from second site visit I noticed something was different. Where my chimbushi used to be there was now a pile of dirt and bricks. While I was away it rained every day and my chimbushi collapsed!!! So Erin has been nice enough to let me use hers!! She is really close by me so it's not a big deal. Just funny. She is going to be Katharine's closest neighbor. Isn't that fun! She's great and I told her Katherine is great so I am excited for both of them! Anyways, it's been a great week. My b-day was fantastic thanks for all the presents, cards, and emails! I had a great day!!! This week will be busy. I will have my language test on Tueseday and then a tech presetnation on Wed. Friday we swear in and then on Sat we head off to our villages!!! I am definitly ready but I will be very sad to leave my family in my village behind. They are really wonderful people. So tears to come that day but definitly exctied and ready to start doing my own thing. This will proably be the last blog for quite some time so know that I love you all and hope your doing great!!! Peace out for now, victoria

Dear Victoria,
We love the birthday song. It's nice to know that people all over the world care so deeply for our daughters personal needs. It's a great reassurance to Kay and I. Your week sounds extremely busy. We will be praying for you that things will go smoothly and that graduation will be fantastic.

Congratulations on your coming graduation. I remember my graduation. I looked really sharp with my cap on. I really would have liked to have had a gown, too. Are you going to get any special awards? I was BowWowVictoriaN and voted 'Most Likely To Get Lost and/or Easily Distracted'. A special award just for me! Keep up the good work. Your Four-Legged Sister, Skye

Paw says this may be the last time for awhile that we have to say Hi to you before you head out to your new home. Congrats on Graduation. I know you are one sharp human. I am a graduate, too. I have been tutored, as well. Or at least I think they meant tutored. It rhymed with that, anyways. So I must be really, really smart. I saw where one of your PC friend's huts actually came with a dog!!! I guess yours doesn't. Very sad. I wish I could be there for you. I would show you all the best outside chimbushi's.
Love,
Your Four-Legged Brother,
Jack Kelley

HAPPY SWEARING DAY!!!!!! OK so maybe it's Swearing In Day but the other is more fun to say. I am SOOOO proud of you for sticking through a tough new experience. Sorry about the Chimbushi. That will make stories for years to come. A true friend is one who lets you share her Chimbushi. In case you're wondering Tramp is panting. It's 80 degrees and I made him walk with me.
I Love You

This was the day we have been waiting for. Now for the good stuff. Letting the Zambians know what a great kid you are. We think so. As Jim use to tell me, just remember who you represent. I hope each day is a wonderful experience for you. Make sure your flashlight works and watch where you step. Those roads reminded me of some of Prairie Views. Love u, GM

Well I guess everyone else has already responded to this blog but me so now it is my turn. Hope that your week went well with all of your tests. Initiation is over now and you are officially sworn in. My sister is an official Peace Corps Volunteer. We can now send our letters to Victoria Kelley/PCV! Congratulaions! Here is hoping that your new journey in Zambia is everything you dreamed it would be. Go get'em! Love you. Rach

Hopefully we get to speak to you in THREE more days. I pray that all has been going OK for you. Can't wait to hear from you.
