Zambia Rocks!

Okay so, seeing zebras...tasting n'shima...land crusing it across country...meeting the locals... using the pit latrine... making fire... packing your stuff 15 times... playing with kids... walking everywhere in the bush with the mountains and beautiful zambian huts on your left... secret society male dancers... stars so beautiful and bright you would give anything to touch them...FRESH chickens... beautiful faces with big brown eyes... showering in a hut while watching the cows, chickens, bulls, and pigs scurry past... driving by monkeys... waking up to giraffes eating.... and basically living scenes right out of a national geographic are just many of the many many reasons why zambia rocks! It has really already been the most amazing experience of my life and it is just starting!! I really appreciate all of your prayers. I have met some of the most amazing people and I have been and felt so healthy. I guess eating fresh food all the time does that. I just spent the past 4 days in Eastern Province where I practiced carrying water on my head. I can kind of do it with one hand. But I do have to use one. Eastern Province was beautiful!!! Full of mountains and lush green fields. I chose my language. I will be speaking Lunda. Lunda land is in NW Province. Pull out the maps because that is where I am going to be for the next 2 years! I won't know where exactly until 2nd site visit at the end of march? We have training in Kitwe until then. So far so good. It is great being able to keep in touch with you all. I love you and miss you all a lot but I hope that you are all doing great! Know that I think of you often, vic

Buddy, what a beautifully written entry! The writer in you is coming alive with all that fresh air and fresh food! What a beautiful word picture you created, and to think - it's all real! Enjoy every minute of it! And "look at the stars, look how they shine for you you, and all you do!"! Wow! Can't wait to see them! I love you!

So great to read your message. It sounds beautiful. I'm so glad you seem to be enjoying it so much. I hope you are receiving your mail. It is really neat to hear from you on the internet so quickly after you write. You could put me out of business as a mailman.

Love,

Dad

PS: Jack wants to know if you have seen any dogs or kitties? Or 'Jack-als'.

I had a wonderful dream about you last night. In my dream Zambia looked very nice and someone gave me a brochure about Oklahoma. And you and I were on our way out to eat but then John called and woke me up. Damn him! I am so super jealous that you get to see zebras out your window! I hate you (but secretly envy you)!

I am so so proud of you. I wish I could have those experiences. I am looking forward to getting there and sharing some of Zambia with you. You need to hang on tight because you realize you are at the bottom of the world. I am going to ge a Southern Hemisphere star chart and send it to you. I miss you. You are in my thoughts and prayers ALL the time.

Hi Again Victoria, I just read the comments and want to warn you about one of the e-mails you got and probably will get more. Jack the dog is really bad sending e-mails. He sent me one for my birthday and a couple other occasions. How many people can say they get e-mails from a dog? Love you, Auntie EM

Sounds like wonderful experiences. I can hardly wait to hear you tell them. Is your flashlight working. Be sure and take it with you when you have to make a pit stop at night. I just know the Lord has much in store for you. You are blessed to be there and you will bless others. Love, GM
