Kolenu Mwani
Hello!!! That (kolenu mwani) is the typical lunda greeting. Mwani vude mwani would be your response. It is pretty much the return greeting to any sort of greeting. I use it all the time and just hope that it applies. So the city I will be nearby in NW Province is Mwinilunga? Sorry I don't have the spelling in front of me but I think if you look at a map you can figure it out. So in my last blog remeber how I bragged about feeling wonderful. Well the next morning I woke up with the big D (Diarreha). That was the day we had to drive 5 hours in the land cruiser! I was the first one in the group to get it. Unfortunatly when we got to the hotel it was accompinied by throwing up. I hate throwing up but luckily that is all behind me now. Since then though I think everyone has expericenced some of the big D. Good times. So anyways now that I have disscused the movement of my bowels with everyone I suppose I shall tell you what other exciting things I have been up too. Everyday Well Monday- Friday I go to language class in the morning and tech training in the afternooon. 8-5 with a lunch break where I go home and my A maama feeds me a lot!! It is good to be fat here so she wants me to be fat. On thurs though I have to bike 27 K to Mwkerera for a big training with all of the volunteers. It is fun because I get to see veryone but the biking is very hard. Please pray for strength on that day. IT takes me about an hour. I don't really mind so much I just wish I wasn't so slow. But I suppose I will get better in time. On Sat we just have class until 12:00. Then I will try to come to Kitwe to do computer stuff. Please keep adding comments i like hearing from all of ya'll. I know my grammer/ spelling is not that great but I don't have much time and the keyboard is sticky! So that's really all for now. But I love you all and look up at the stars everynight when I brush my teeth outside and I think that somewhere ya'll are seeing the same ones and it makes me happy. So know that you are all missed, loved and though of often. Peace out, Victoria

Victoria Rocks!!!!! I am not surprised that at some point you got the big D Sorry about that. I don't care about the spelling. All I want is to read a note from you. Most of us check our computers SEVERAL times a day for an update. The ones who don't just call and ask if we have heard from you. I love reading everyone elses comments. It's nice to be able to keep up with all of your friends like I used to. Jessica hang in there. Sometimes you just have to endure a crummy job. Story you will be the perfect person to sell Airbonne. Jeri I know that your school kids must love you by now. Katherine I can just picture you getting up in the middle of the night and trying not to wake up your host family. Mika I rememeber what 2 toddlers are like. Hang in there. In 18 years you may get a good nights sleep. Lynn how many days is it until school is out? Watch those briefs.
I have tried about 5 times to get you. I left the second 0 out and got a family who doesn't know you, but I am going to keep trying. I pray for you and now will add strength for thursday to my prayer.

Hey Victora,
It is so nice to see something from you on the web. Most of us check everyday to see if you have been able to blog. I bet it takes you forever to read all of the posts that we each send. I will definetly get a letter in the mail to you and Miss Golightly has somethings that she would like to add as well. I think of you each night also before I am off to bed and wonder what you are doing. I am glad we can look at the same stars. I love you lots. Rach

Victoria...oh my gosh, and now you are riding a bike. Two years from now, will you be my Ride Oklahoma - free rider partner????? Still looking for a star chart to send you. Doesn't seem to be a lot of demand here in Tulsa for African star charts. Love you so much and Kolenu Mwani to you too.

Mwani vudu mwani best friend!! Great post once again friend, as you were able to evoke laughter and tears all at once! With a few minor word changes you could certainly sing the "I'm going through the big D and don't mean Dallas" song - that's right, I just referenced an old country song! Who am I?! And about the slowness of your bike riding, keep in mind to tortise and the hare...'slow and steady wins the race', and in your case slower may lead to less injuries!! It is seriously great to hear from you! I love you and miss you! I hope to talk WITH you soon! Until then, know you are in my heart and prayers! Matti says 'woof, woof'. I'm not sure if that translates into Lundah, but you get the idea!! Go gettem tiger! love ya, Lauren

Glad you are doing well and we are thinking of you.

Hi Victoria! (Mwani vudu mwani!) Happy Valentines Day. Geez, I've been checking your blog every second of everyday and the one time I don't, you post something. I was so excited to read about your adventures, again. Not super excited to hear about the tummy issues (TMI), but your body will eventually get used to everything. Hang in there. Wow, I would not be able to even ride a bike that far. I'm so lazy. Who cares if it takes a while, as long as you get where you need to go. In answer to your mom's question: I have 32 days until Spring Break. :) Can't wait to hear from you again. Love you and miss you tons!!! Lynn

Hi Victoria,
So sorry to hear about the "big D"., but glad you're better now. Are you keeping a journal? I'm so thrilled for you that you have the opportunity for such a wonderful adventure!! Are you taking pictures? I keep you in my thoughts and prayers and tonight I'll remember to look at the stars and know you'll be seeing the same ones. How neat!! Love you, Auntie Em

Kolenu Mwani Two-Legged Sister, Victoria: Jack and I were so worried about you. It was so good to get your mail. You will never believe this, Victoria, but I speak Lunda. I learned it as a pup. Jack and I were really worried about you with the big D. If we had known, we could have helped. We have that problem sometimes and we go outside and eat a lot of grass. Do you have grass there? You might want to remember this in case your A momma feeds you too much. If you ever have any more medical questions, call Dr. Jack or Dr. Skye, DVM.
Love, Your Four-Legged Sister and Brother
(We used our African names on this comment)
PS: We had a lot of time on our paws tonight.

I had another dream about you last night! This time you were showing me around your site. Crazy huh! Once this bid "d" thing passes you'll have the big "c" (constipation) to look forward to. Bet you cant wait! Not to mention the numerous hours the pcmo's will spend lecturing about it, if they have not already.

I am sure that by now you feel like (Nakutiyanga Kuzenzalala) but please know that is only how frustrated you are. (Chidihohu)
So does those make sense to you? let me know. I would love to think that I could actually know some Lunda. Nancy was so excited to learn she could post a blog by herself. We had a large beautiful moon here this week. I imagine we all think of you know when we look at the stars.
Have a Happy Valentines Day and keep those stories coming. We all love finding an update from you. Here's praying the server won't be down when you get to Kitwe. We do understand if you need to do something for you when you get to Town.
I love you

Victoria, the big D was bound to happen. It does to everyone sooner or later overseas. It takes a while for the ole body to adjust. I can imagine you are building up those muscles on the bike. I'll just bet at the end of the day ( ride). You are ready for a hot bath. Is that a possiblity. I hope so. I would love to experience some of the amazing sites with you. Can I skip the D. Just know you are being prayed for every morning. Love, GM

Kolenu mwani,
Dear Victoria, happy Valentines day. Sure miss you but I know you are doing something very important, you will make a big difference in many peoples lives and that is about the neatest thing anyone can hope to do.
I saw where the dogs have been on the computer again, I can't do a thing with them. And I don't think they should be dispensing medical advice. However after reviewing their solution for the medical condition you had maybe they had a good idea. I mean if people saw you outside eating the yard they would proably stay far away from you and that is exactly what you would desire when you have the problem you described.
I ordered some new golf clubs today. They are some I have been
wanting for a long time. I'm really getting along with my bosses well. They overheard me talking to my golfing buddies at work today, and they told me the next time there were thunderstorms in the area they would let us off to go play a round of golf. I wish you were here to caddy for me again, with your help and a pencil with a good eraser I maight have a record round. I think it is great that my bosses overlook all the mean things I said to them and now they are wanting to let me off to play golf, I was wrong I guess they really do care.

Somewhere Out There
~ James Ingram and Linda Ronstadt
Somewhere out there,
Beneath the pale blue night,
Someone's thinking of me,
And loving me tonight.
Somewhere out there,
Someone's saying a prayer,
Then we'll find one another,
In that big somewhere out there.
And even though I know how very far apart we are,
It helps to think we might be wishing
On the same bright star,
And when the night will start to sing
A lonesome lullaby,
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the
Same big sky.
Somewhere out there,
If love can see us through,
Then, we'll be together,
Somewhere out there, out where dreams, come true.

Hey Vic,
Thinking of you and missing you today, Thurs, Feb. 16. Last night there was a beautiful full moon and I thought of you as I watched it while I drove. Remind me to tell you the story of how Miss Golightly met Boomer. It is quite a tale and I think you will find it mostly interesting. Do you have any pets in Africa yet? A lion, a tiger, a gecko or a spider? Just thought that I would ask. Hope that all is going well for you and that you are having a great day. Love you lots. Rach

Hi Victoria! I remembered you said you were going to blog and googled you today, and amazingly, I found you! So glad to be able to check in and see what you're up to- it sounds awesome! Just wanted to say hi and tell you Kid's Korner is going pretty well. DeAnna and I agree though, that you and Lauren make it look easy, and it's sooo not. I am enjoying it though, and growing because of it, and I thank you for that! Caleb says hi too!
